Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Rosie Thomas returns to the studio to continue charming listeners with her effortless, laid-back melodies. With Love follows a bittersweet two years, ranging from the highs of a wedding to the lows of an anxiety-producing thyroid disorder. Thomas says she “woke up one morning, and the sun shined in the window, and … the world felt like it was back on my side again or vice versa, and I finally fit in again.” Here, she brings more unfailing honesty than ever and a versatility that proves this delicate vocalist can belt it out when warranted.
The album explores pure love through heartbreaks and missteps (“Two Worlds Collide”), through meaningful friendships (“2 Birds”), and through beauty and wonder (“Really Long Year”).
With Love seems to be not only a journey for the listener but also a celebration for Thomas, who has learned that while sometimes it feels that love exists inside a tricky concoction of risk and trust, its purest and most perfect form still lives in a place devoid of fear.
The Sonflowerz: By faith
By Faith is the 4th single of Be favourites The Sonflowerz. For those of you who remember our first Be event you will also remember sisters Elissa and Becca who make up the sonflowerz and the amazing music they shared with us on that day.
Every song on this latest album is an offering of praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus, and the album opens with an upbeat praise and worship song, “You Captured Me,” which sets the tone for the rest of the album. No song better captures the essence of this great album than the title track, “By Faith,” which is one of my favorite songs on the album. I love singing the bridge and chorus at the top of my not so tuneful voice, “Though my eyes cannot see, I know You are with me, You are with me” “In You I put my hope.”
The album is balanced with a great blend of upbeat songs and ballads, and you’ll be singing along with the worshipful choruses after just a couple of listens. Each song clearly reflects a worshipful response to God, with catchy music and lyrics and all of the songs include encouraging takeaway messages such as “God’s Love is burning like a fire inside of you, and no one can take that away” in “Made To Shine.”
Great songs with a great message, a must buy for everyone but especially for anyone who remembers The Sonflowerz visit!
